Real Gaziantep instead of Barça, the deal that captured Thirkiyi Messi
Real Madrid (Real) have turned away FC Barcelona-bound Arda Güler (Fenerbahçe), and there’s a good reason why Güler will be joining Real instead of Barça.
Fabrizio Romano, an expert on European transfers, wrote on his social media account on June 6, “Güler is set to sign for Real. The details of the deal are being confirmed.”
“Real will pay Fenerbahçe €20 million for Güler, plus a sell-on clause,” Romano said. If Real sell Güler to another team in the future, Fenerbahçe will get 20% of the transfer fee.”

At just 18 years old, Güler is an incredible talent. His sharp dribbling and goal-scoring ability, as well as his versatility as a left winger, second striker, and attacking midfielder, have turned heads around the world.
In the 2022/2023 season, he showed a steep rise. Despite his young age, he was a key resource for Fenerbahçe, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 35 games across all competitions, earning him the title of ‘Turkiye Lionel Messi’.
He was a favorite to join Barça. Barça wanted to buy Güler outright in 2024 after his senior year, but Güler refused.
Real tried to convince Güller and Fenerbahçe to sign him. They even included a sell-on clause, which convinced Fenerbahçe.
Güler is expected to finalize his move to Real in the coming days.
